The Governors of Robert Miles Junior School are looking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and passionate Assistant Headteacher to join our staff team leading the school’s pastoral and inclusion work.
Robert Miles Junior School is a friendly, caring primary school and our children really enjoy coming to school. We are a member of Equals Trust, a multi academy trust with 13 primary schools in the Rushcliffe and Gedling areas. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with the support of a committed and skilled team who provide a caring and engaging learning experience for our children.
The successful candidate will join the school’s leadership team and will:
· be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Policy across the school
· take a strategic lead in evaluating and developing the SEND provision within the school ensuring that each child is positively encouraged, supported and challenged to make excellent progress.
· support the Headteacher in leading the school’s safeguarding work and will be responsible for implementing the school’s safeguarding policies set out in the Child Protection Policy.
· lead the school’s work in continuing to ensure that behaviour remains a strength of the school
Knowledge of existing Nottinghamshire SEND provision and completion of the National award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination are desirable.
The current postholder is leaving the school to lead the Trust’s SEND provision. They will therefore be supporting the successful candidate’s induction into the role and will provide ongoing support. The successful candidate will join the Trust’s team of SENCOs collaborating, developing and sharing practice.
